The Kentmere Round

A beautiful walk in the Lake District will provide a challenging but rewarding introduction.

This route covers 11miles passing over five mountains, Yoke, Ill Bell, Froswick, Harter Fell, and Kentmere Pike. Once the height has been gained the high-level rout is steady until reaching Nan Bield Pass where you must give up some height and descend to a stone shelter. From here it is a direct ascent up the slopes of Harter Fell with a relatively easy route to Kentmere Pike. Then it’s all down hill back to the Lake District village of Kentmere for a well-earned refreshment.
